Florrie Rodrigo
Dutch dancer Florrie Rodrigo (1893-1996) is considered a pioneer of modern dance in the Netherlands. She lived and performed for a few years in Germany, but returned home due to rising anti-Semitism in the mid-1920s. She also fell out of favor with Dutch authorities, but narrowly avoided being sent to a concentration camp. She performed in Brussels for a few years before retiring from the stage in 1949 and devoting herself to teaching for the remainder of her career.
