John Jasperse

Choreographer John Jasperse (1963-) worked with Jennifer Monson (1961-) and Anna Teresa de Keersmaeker (1960-) before founding his self-named dance company in 1990. He has created work for the White Oak Project, Batsheva Dance Company, and Lyon Opera Ballet, and he was appointed the Director of Dance at Sarah Lawrence College (his alma mater) in 2016.

Also Born Today: Russian ballerina Vera Trefilova (1875-1943) was known for her fouetté turns. Australian choreographer Ian Spink (1947-) was the Artistic Director of Second Stride, an interdisciplinary performance group, from (1982-1996).
