Mary Ann Niles

Dancer Mary Ann Niles (1923-1987) was the first wife of Bob Fosse (1927-1987) and his dance partner between 1947 and 1951. They both performed in the Broadway show Dance Me a Song (1950) and appeared on the TV show Your Hit Parade that same year, and she continued dancing in Broadway shows, including No No Nanette (1971), until the mid 1970s.

Also Born Today: Ballet dancer and choreographer Aurelio Milloss (1906-1988) studied with Enrico Cecchetti (1850-1928) and worked as a ballet master and director for many European dance organizations including La Scala, the Rome Opera, and the Vienna State Opera. German choreographer and filmmaker Raimund Hoghe (1949-2021) served as the dramaturg for Pina Bausch (1940–2009) from 1980–1990 and began creating his own work, inspired by Bausch.
