Shura Baryshnikov
Daughter of actor Jessica Lange and ballet dancer Mikhail Baryshnikov (1948-), Shura Baryshnikov (1981-) trained in classical ballet as a youngster and in contemporary dance in college. She danced with several companies and co-founded Doppelganger Dance Collective. She teaches dance at Brown University and in several other schools in the Northeast and has created works with Boston-area choreographers.
Also Born Today: Dancer Konstantin Sergeyev (1910-1992) partnered ballerina Galina Ulanova (1910-1998) in the 1930s and 1940s and later was the Artistic Director for the Kirov.
