Roberto Bolle

Ballet dancer Roberto Bolle (1975-) studied at La Scala in Italy and in 1996 he was promoted to principal dancer. He left the company the following year to pursue a freelance career, guesting with international companies including the Royal Ballet, the Stuttgart Ballet, and the Tokyo Ballet, among others. Bolle danced with ABT from 2010-2019 and he has partnered many ballerinas for their farewell performances, including Julie Kent (1969-) and Alessandra Ferri (1963-). 

Also Born Today: Serbian dancer/choreographer Milorad Miskovitch (1928-2013) who moved to France to work with some of the greatest dancers and choreographers of his time, including Serge Lifar (1905-1986) and Zizi Jeanmarie (1924-2020). Later in his career he directed his own ballet company and worked for UNESCO. Contemporary dancer Robert Cohan (1925-2021) founded The Place dance school in London, and directed London Contemporary Dance Theatre.
