Before singer/actor Jennifer Lopez (1969-) was Selena or J.Lo, she was a Fly Girl on the TV comedy show In Living Color from 1991-1993. She began dancing at the age of 5 and studied with Ballet Hispanico and moved to Manhattan to pursue a career in dance. Lopez was a back-up dancer for MC Hammer (1962-), New Kids on the Block, and Janet Jackson (1966-). Even though she decided to pursue acting, she has danced in the film Shall We Dance (2004) and she was the executive producer and judge for the competition show World of Dance (2017-2021).
