Born Today:
Sammy Green

Tap dancer Sammy Green (1907-1996) was a member of the performing trio Tip, Tap and Toe, along with original members Teddy Frazier (1907-?) and Raymond Winfield (1912-1997). In 1936 Broadway producer George White recruited them for his annual variety show, Scandals. They were featured in several movies in the 1930s-1940s, including Pardon My Sarong (1942), along with Katherine Dunham (1909-2006). They also performed at the Palace Theatre at the request of performer Eddie Cantor (1892-1964). A quick search on YouTube will show you their amazing work.
