Jeffrey Vinokur
Jeffrey Vinokur, aka "The Dancing Scientist" (1990-) earned a PhD in Biochemistry at UCLA in 2017 and discovered hip-hop dance a decade earlier on YouTube, where he began posting his own popping tutorials. Combining his two personas, he premiered as The Dancing Scientist on America’s Got Talent and began creating school assembly presentations to inspire students to study science. Also Born Today: Dancer, reporter, and editor of the Phoenix Gazette, Lois Boyles (1927-2021) began her career as a ballet dancer, but after finding little professional success in New York, she took up journalism. Singer/dancer Jeffrey Daniel (c. 1957-) one of the co-founders of the band Shalamar was an early hip-hop dancer who worked with Michael Jackson on music video choreography in the early 1980s.
