Dania Krupska (c.1923-2011) was in the original Broadway cast of Oklahoma! (1943) and assisted Agnes de Mille (1905-1993) in the Broadway shows Allegro (1947) and Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (1949) and she danced in the original stage productions of The King and I (1951) and Can-Can (1953) before choreographing shows on Broadway, including The Most Happy Fella (1956). Krupska also assisted de Mille with her ballet, Fall River Legend (1948) about the infamous ax-murderer, Lizzie Borden, with whom Krupska shares a birthplace.
Also Born Today: Russian choreographer/dancer Vladimir Kirsanov (1947-2021) is best known for choreographing the Academy Award-winning film Burnt by the Sun (1994). He died of COVID.
